    Get Endorsed

The RLC endorses both Candidates and Referenda (ballot issues). In general, the RLC endorses at the Federal level, and the RLC of Florida endorses at the State and Local levels. For Candidates for Federal office in Florida, the RLC of Florida also recommends endorsements to the RLC.

In addition to our press and grassroots capabilities of providing volunteers, speakers and general support to our endorsed candidates, the RLC has a federal Political Action Committee which allows RLC members to monetarily support endorsed candidates for office. The RLC of Florida is actively researching the establishment of a Florida State PAC to add to our press and grassroots support capabilities of State and Local candidates.

The RLC of Florida Endorsement Principles are the elements by which any endorsement--candidate or ballot--is considered. Fulfillment of these principles is the first requirement for endorsement.

The RLC of Florida Endorsement Principles

    1. The integrity of RLC of Florida endorsements must be preserved. When a candidate receives an RLC endorsement, this is a positive statement that indicates that the RLC has done sufficient research and is confident that the candidate embraces and will act in accordance with the goals of lower taxes, less government and expanded personal and economic liberty and responsibility. When a ballot issue is endorsed, its must always indicate that the ballot issue reduces the size of government or expands individual freedom.
    2. RLC of Florida endorsements are never negative. That is, the RLC does not endorse a candidate solely in order to defeat their opponent.
    3. RLC of Florida endorsements are never relative. That is, the RLC endorsement does not merely mean that the endorsed candidate is the best candidate running, but that the candidate is a principled advocate of limited government.
    4. The RLC of Florida, as an organization, is not under any obligation to make endorsements in any particular race or referenda.
    5. The RLC of Florida encourages its members to participate in all manner of campaigns and referenda, including those about which the RLC, as an organization, is silent.
    6. Nominations for endorsement can be made by any current dues-paying member of the RLC residing in the state of Florida.
    7. All endorsements must be ratified by the current dues-paying members of the RLC of Florida.
    8. Members of Congress who receive a ‘libertarian’ score in the RLC’s Liberty Index are automatically nominated for endorsement by the RLC of Florida.
    9. As an intra-party caucus, the RLC of Florida endorses only Republican candidates for office.

Second, either a candidate or a ballot issue must be nominated by an active, dues-paying RLC of Florida member.

Third, for candidates, they must sign the RLC Liberty Compact.

    That's it.

There are two different Nomination for Endorsement forms:

Go here if you want the downloadable form Candidate or here if you want to submit online (you must be logged in).

    Referenda

The RLC Liberty Compact also has two forms:

    State or Local Candidate

    Federal Candidate

These are short, and simple. Give the RLC Liberty Compact to the Candidate you wish to nominate. (If you are a candidate, you will need an RLC member to nominate you for endorsement. If you don't know any, contact us here, and we will get back to you shortly. You can also call 800-798-1908.)

For Referenda, download the form, fill it out, and follow the instructions on the form.
